NEWS EVENTS AWARDS PRESS RELEASE 2011 - Dragons that are produced in Wales, packed in W

South Caernarfon Creameries has unveiled a brand new image for the Welsh market; and in keeping with the companies’ Welsh roots, it is appropriately named 'Dragon'.

South Caernarfon Creameries is the only company in Wales that produces and packs a range of authentic Welsh milk, butter and cheese. The new look Dragon range now includes milk – full fat, semi skimmed and skimmed; salted Welsh butter and cheese – mild, medium, mature and vintage Cheddar and Welsh Caerphilly.

This range is Welsh through and through: made using Welsh milk produced by South Caernarfon Creameries' member farmers, each product is made in Wales at their Chwilog dairy and packed in Wales, at the same site. The launch of these new Welsh products is perfectly timed to coincide with Wales' national day -St David;s Day.

"We hope that this range will help fulfil a real gap. We undertook consumer research which identified that 100% of the survey wanted to purchase more Welsh products but only 62% thought that the products that they were buying were authentically Welsh being made and packed here. We appreciate that more and more people are concerned with food provenance and we wanted to highlight that if someone buys Dragon, they are definitely buying Welsh!" explains Lynne King, Commercial Director at South Caernarfon Creameries.

The range will be available throughout Wales from major supermarkets and independent stores. The Dragon will soon be 'mobile' as it will appear on the side of South Caernarfon's liveried vehicles that collect milk from the member farms.
