Following the recent launch of their brand new Dragon range of Welsh dairy products, South Caernarfon Creameries ran a competition to find the best display of its Dragon range of cheese, milk and butter.
Any retailer who stocked the Dragon range was eligible to enter, and the overall winner has been announced as Cigydd Bala Butchers, based in High Street, Bala. "We were very surprised but pleased that we had won" said Mark Watkins, owner of Cigydd Bala Butchers. "We sell the Dragon range of cheese, milk and butter and it sells very well, particularly the butter. The new packaging looks good and it's important that we sell Welsh products as everything we sell is local."
"We relaunched the Dragon range as we identified that it would help fulfil a real gap for people who wanted to purchase authentic Welsh products and we wanted to highlight that if someone buys Dragon, they are definitely buying Welsh" explains Lynne King, Commercial Director at South Caernarfon Creameries. "We have been really pleased with the response that we have had to the new packaging for the range, and very grateful for the support we have received from the local retailers. Many have put in tremendous effort with merchandising the new range, but ultimately, we picked Cigydd Bala Butchers as the overall winner."
The prize will see the Cigydd Bala Butchers receive money off their invoice.
