Roaring Success for Dragon Cheeses

South Caernarfon Creameries is celebrating its most successful awards season ever after Dragon cheeses scoop 30 gongs at two top food and farming shows. New Welsh Whisky Cheese

South Caernarfon Creameries has launched a new cheese laced with an iconic Welsh whisky. The new special occasion cheese is aged in the Llechwedd slate caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, before being infused with the award-winning Penderyn whisky. The unveiling of the new luxury cheese with a kick at the Royal Welsh Show was part of an exciting re-brand of the much-loved range of Dragon  cheeses. Proud Day for Jordan

One of the proudest people at the open day to mark the 80th anniversary of South Caernarfon Creameries was Jordan Roberts. Jordan, one of our newest recruits, is the great grandson of the co-operative’s founder, the late John Owen Roberts. J O Roberts was awarded an MBE for his outstanding contribution to the Welsh dairy industry.  The medal has now been given to South Caernarfon Creameries by Jordan’s grandfather, William Roberts, to keep in posterity.  This was presented by Jordan …

Open Day

A open day was held on Saturday, 7th July to celebrate the 80th anniversary of South Caernarfon Creameries and it was a huge success with hundreds walking through the gate. Members of the public were able to see the entire cheese making process including learning how the milk is turned into cheese, matured and packed ready for distribution its range of customers.  They were given guided tours of the plant including visiting one long-term cheese storage warehouse where 5,000 tonnes …

Gwynedd Council Visit

It was a pleasure to welcome a delegation from Gwynedd Council on site on 9th May.  Members and officers visited the co-operative as part of the council’s business week activities that was arranged to promote and highlight successful businesses within their catchment area. This was the first time members of Gwynedd Council visited SCC since we’ve extended our facilities and installed a new multi-million pound cheese production and packing facility.
