Our Members

Be part of the South Caernarfon Creamery family. All of our family owned member farmers who supply us with their milk also own a share in the company. Our member farmers are at the core of everything that we do. We are committed to offering sustainable, competitive terms for farmers as well as focusing on driving sales, supply and profitability.

We are:

Quality Standards

To maintain quality, our member farmers are audited on a regular basis in line with the requirements for the Red Tractor Scheme as well as our own internal quality standards.

Benefits with our Milk Supplier Contract

We believe that our payment schedules within our Milk Supplier contracts truly reflect the cost of production at different times of the year and are fair in terms of the constituent and volume production. Benefits and returns are weighted in favour of constituents and quality rather than members receiving fixed payments.  Use our milk calculator to compare.

Here’s what some of our family owned member farmers think:

Join Us

We have exciting growth plans and would welcome new suppliers, particularly those who wish to work with a forward-thinking processor that values its members. We have a dedicated Farm Liaison Manager who can visit on a regular basis and is only a phone call away for advice or assistance.

Words From Our Farmers...

  • Farmer-Williams

    The Williams Family, Bodernabwy

Over the years, the breed and number of cows that the Williams’s have had has changed significantly. Today the 85 cow herd is a mixture of cross-bred Freisian and Jerseys which give excellent cheese-making quality milk, ideally suited to SCC’s needs.

Aled said “We are proud to be members and suppliers to Hufenfa De Arfon – South Caernarfon Creameries. Not only is it important that we receive a Fair Price for our milk but it is of equal importance that we know where it goes to. We also value the extra services we get from the Agri Sales Van”

  • Hughes-Brothers

    The Hughes Brothers, Graig Arthur

Over the last 90 years, milking has remained the main activity and these days 185 cows are milked on the 300 acre farm. Having been cross breeding the cows for a number of years this closed herd produces excellent cheese making milk. Originally dating from 1776, the farmhouse is one of the earliest brick built houses in the area.

“We value the fact that we get a really good price for quality milk and we have a straight forward price schedule.”

  • The Griffiths Family

    The Griffiths Family, Ffosygrafel

Since 1928, the family have farmed at Ffosygrafel, Borth Aberystwyth. Today Martin, in partnership with his parents and brother, milk 90 cows and have a flock of 400 sheep. As the cows calve throught the year the Griffiths’s have continually opted for SCC’s level profile production scheme and have been succesfull in estimating their production of milk.  Following extensive investment in a new building to house cows, a dairy and a parlour, the plan is to increase cow numbers by 50%. Martin said “having confidence in our milk purchaser helped when deciding to further invest in our dairy enterprise”
