Rhisiart Retires after Loyal Service

The Annual General Meeting saw Rhisiart Lewis, Coed Cae Gwyn, Llangybi officially retire as a Farmer Board Director for South Caernarfon Creameries after almost 44 years’ service. Better known as ‘Dic Coecia’, he has been a Board member since 1974 and was Chairman from 1992-2010 and has since remained a very active Board member. New Farmer Directors Appointed

South Caernarfon Creameries has recently appointed two new member farmers to the Board of Directors for a three year term. The Co-operative’s Board includes five milk producer elected Directors whom are nominated by the producing member farmers. Each farmer Director is elected from one of the four milk collection regions in North Wales and Mid Wales. Record Profits

South Caernarfon Creameries have reported a record profitable year for the period to March 2017. An operative profit of nearly £3 million (9%) on sales of £33.1 million was achieved compared to  a profit of £389k (1.2%) on sales of £31.7 million in 2016. Golden Anniversary for Fred

Maintenance man Fred Williams has recently celebrated his golden work anniversary at South Caernarfon Creameries, clocking up 50 years’ service. Starting out as a carpentry apprentice at the farmer-owned co-operative in 1967, fifty years later Fred’s still working as hard as ever and has become a valued and trusted member of staff. Within a few months of being accepted by Lidl to supply all their cheese to its Welsh stores; South Caernarfon Creameries was invited to be one of only eight suppliers to Lidl’s Annual Conference to showcase the new Welsh cheese to Lidl’s top team.
